Tim Hood, CEO
Before setting up Yoosk with Keith, Tim worked for the British Council in the field of international education and cultural relations. Over the last 17 years he has worked in Vietnam, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Ukraine, USA and Spain.
Tim has managed a number of education businesses and this is where he first developed an interest in the potential for user generated content to empower young people and engage them in the democratic process.
His interests quickly spread to the use of social media for intercultural dialogue and for local community empowerment, and eventually the idea of Yoosk took hold.

Keith Halstead, Director of Development
Keith started life as an auditor and worked with the British Forces in Germany. It took a few years to realise that auditing was not for him and, via a year's sabbatical in Denmark, he made the transition into teaching. Three years in Ankara followed before the desire to explore new countries took him to Hanoi where he has lived for the last 10 years.
In Hanoi, Keith met Vietnamese film director Bui Thac Chuyen who sparked in him an interest in filmmaking which led to Keith starting a business making small films for Non Governmental Organisations.
Keith met Tim in 2002 in Istanbul and they became friends later the same year when Tim's work took him to Hanoi. When Tim came up with the idea for Yoosk, Keith immediately saw the potential and was happy to put the film business on "hold" and for the last year Keith has been looking after the development side of the site. |
