I understand that lifting the cap is the discretion of Birmingham Councillors. The most ill, disabled and vulnerable people in our society have now seen an increase in their contribution from £100 to almost £400 for a few hours care each week. This increase is way above inflation. Carers get paid nothing or £0.60p per hour yet care charges are almost £16.00 per hour. How is this fair? Why has Birmingham City Council found it legal and moral to squeeze those who are ill and disabled in such a way. How do you justify this? Show less »

This work led to the setting up of specialised suites in some police stations. As a City Council member and Cabinet member I am proud of the 4 Care Centres which have been built in Birmingham which I have achieved with officers. Show less »
