I am her full-time carer and when we lived in Bedfordshire she was prescribed an Ensure nutrient drink by her Dementia Specialist because her appetite is poor. When I tried to get a repeat prescription from the Hemsby Coastal practice, I was refused because they said this product is controlled by the Advisory Committee for Borderline Substances and doctors are no allowed to prescribe without their permission. My mother is entirely self-funded for any additional care she receives and I would like to know please why she cannot still continue to benefit from this product. Show less »

In the reply the reason for UN 1973 was for the protection of civillians. It has now come to light that it is a regime change and the Americians are likely to arm the rebels, Has there been another resolution? I would also like to know (as I am sure other people would) who are the rebels, who is the spokesperson/leader of them as noone has come forward. Does the government in fact know who they are trying to get in power as it could be anyone, not discounting Islamic extremist government. These are some questions that should be raised in pariment surely so the public can alay their own fears of another Iraq. Thank you again for your time, Terry Baccus Show less »

We have just recieved our non domestic business rates which should have 100% relief for small businesses. We have been charged £134 for the remaining 6 month period as our Rateable value is over £6000. In the last 18 months trade has reduced so drastically that we have had to let go the 3 part time staff we previously hired and since Sept have been running our pub ourselves (man&wife). Our turnoveris down to under £100,000 (at it's best it has been £125,000). I would class us as a small business but according to your rating system we aren't. ISN'T THIS WRONG? Show less »

After several emails to you and your replies I now ask another question. With the excessive rise in fuel duty and the increase in VAT could you please tell me what you are doing to put pressure on the Prime Minister as well as the Treasury to reduce the duty level? I've read your articles critising the previous government over it's excessive rises but exactly where do you stand now you are the MP for Gt. Yarmouth? Show less »

No, it is time to START bashing the Banks. How dare they bring this country to its knees, affecting the pockets of ordinary people and dare to be "livid" at the prospect of an increased levy. If this rhetoric continues I for one will never vote conservative again. When are you going to listen to the people who elected you and stop allowing the Banks to dictate terms. If they want to go abroad let them, we would be better off without them! Show less »

Show more »Dear Mr Lewis, I write to request your help in getting a 7.5 tonne weight limit put on the road outside my house. We live on a small single lane road (Heath Road, Rollesby) that a local lorry firm is using as a short cut to the B1152. This is causing extreme nuisance, we are literally shaken out of bed at between 5.30 and 6.30am every morning as half a dozen lorries thunder past and this continues though out the day, seven days a week. It is also causing structural damage to mine and my neighbours properties. There is an alternative parrallel road that could be used, which is wider, with passing places and does not have any houses on it. However, the Highways Authority said the junction is not suitable for lorries to turn left. I would suggest that it is in fact better than the one at the end of our road, as although the angle may be tight the visibility is much better and any lorry turning left from either junction has to cross the white line. My neighbours and I are becoming increasingly worn down by this constant disturbance and inconsiderate driving/dangerous driving (a neighbour's cat was splattered and I mean splattered outside our house in the summer, a child may be next). I wonder therefore if you would be kind enough to point me in the right direction to see if we can get this problem resolved or help in any way. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards Liz Robinson Show less »

Not only do we have a huge deficit to deal with we alos need to find a way to ensure we can support our universities in future. Pupils with low income families will be better off in that they will have much lower monthly payments, which will not even start until they earn over £20,000 so the worse off will benefit most. The part time students will also be eligable, which they were not before. SO much fairer. I do believe students can invest in their own future and although it may put an end ot some degree courses such as some of the more fanciful once that exist it will also mena students have more power as they will be the direct client and will and should be looking at contact time etc. This can lead to all students getting proper and better contact time and experience at Univiersity (some only offer as little as 3 hours a week at present) so that we have a better end product for all. Our rail travel is an absolute disgrace yet in 2008/09 we gave China £40.2 million to help with their superspeed passenger train? Can you also tell me why we give such enormous sums of our money in overseas aid to places like China and India when they are probably better off than we are. Honest answers would be appreciated! This means that any elected Mayor will not have the power that most people expect a Mayor to have as much of those powers remain with the County. It works best in a unitary area. We are a small area too and the cost of this with the election as well could be as much as £200,000 and that is before the cost of acutally running a Mayor's office and what do we get for that? Repalce a Leader with a Mayor, power moves from a cabinet and council to one person and we loose our civic Mayor who raises thousands for local charities.
