Isn't it common sense that if someone commits a crime and has their freedom taken away - they should lose their right to vote?

I can never remember hearing any prisoners complaining they didn't have the vote and nobody I've spoken to has ever said this is something that needs correcting. Is this really a worthwhile issue?

Doesn't this issue illustrate why we desperately need our own Bill of Rights so we don't have our legislation forced upon us by the EU with fines if we don't agree?
