Show more »Hi, I am an international student and let me start of by saying that the support I've received from the university I am at right now is appaling. When I pay someone £10,000 I expect to be provided some kind of service. Wouldn't you? The course I am on requires me to complete a certain number of hours in a certain placement. I am having a difficult time finishing these hours because the university keeps saying it's not their responsibility. While the University did say that they would provide me with a placement, they said that they don't guarantee the hours. If I or any of the other students try and put in a complaint they threaten us by saying they will kick us off the course. And if I try to contact the OIA they say that I need to go through the internal complaints first, which could take months, and then if the OIA takes up the case that could also take months. My question to you is who should I go to for immediate help in this situation, since the university obviously does not have the proper framework in place for the course they are providing, and the OIA seems to be unable to do something about it, and these places of 'higher learning' do not want to take responsibility for the training (or lack thereof) which they are providing, and I can not keep renewing my visa after every 6 months and pay the government £400 and waste my life. Please help - I am sure I am not the only one in this kind of situation!!! Show less »
