Isn't it the very fact that the HoL is unelected that allows it to properly apply its reviewing and amending powers to legislation away from the populist pressures that MP's face? Is the EU increasingly undermining the constitutional supremacy of the UK Parliament and is there any way to re-establish the power of Parliament as the primary body dictating British law?

As someone who has grown sick of seeing human rights and EU law constantly abused by criminals, scroungers and the like, I would like to ask if introducing a British Bill of Rights into our Constitution... Could a British Bill of Rights take legal precedence over EU human rights law, and if not, would there be any point in introducing a British Bill of Rights? Show less »
