Philip Norton, Baron Norton of Louth:
Baron Norton is a Professor of government in the dept. of Politics and International Studies at the University of Hull.
Baron Norton is a regular contributor to 'Lords of the Blog', a collaborative blog by members of the House of Lords for the purposes of public engagement. He has been described as 'our greatest living expert on parliament' and 'a world authority on constitutional issues'.
Lord Carlile:
Lord Carlile is a practising barrister and successfully defended Diana, Princess of Wales's butler Paul Burrell against charges that he had sold some of her estates belongings.
Since 2005 he has acted as the independent reviewer of British anti-terrorist laws and supported the extension of the period a suspect could be detained without charge.
Baron Soley:
After being a Labour MP since 1979, Soley was given a life peerage in 2005 and was created Baron Soley of Hammersmith.
He is currently Campaign Director of 'Future Heathrow', an organisation dedicated to the expansion of Heathrow.

Show more »There are those who would argue that the solution to the problem of terrorism in this country is not the formulation of more laws but rather lies in us being able to address effectively the reasons why there exist in this country people who feelĀ that their religion and people are under attack from the West and that force used against them in Afghanistan and Iraq justifies the force they use in terrorist attacks both here and in other countries.
