I am her full-time carer and when we lived in Bedfordshire she was prescribed an Ensure nutrient drink by her Dementia Specialist because her appetite is poor. When I tried to get a repeat prescription from the Hemsby Coastal practice, I was refused because they said this product is controlled by the Advisory Committee for Borderline Substances and doctors are no allowed to prescribe without their permission. My mother is entirely self-funded for any additional care she receives and I would like to know please why she cannot still continue to benefit from this product. Show less »
