Second, in terms of input - devices like the Wiimote have shown that games CAN be played by all kinds of people! yet who the heck knows what to make of a PS3 controller? Third, in terms of the breadth of interactivepossibilities on offer. Fourth, in terms of the time it requires. They'll become more sophisticated over the next few years and probabl;y more integrated into our lives and then we'll see a new medium emerge which will have the depth of other traditional art forms Show less »

If you're talking about rating boards (different from censors, I think), I don't think so. I'm not familiar with the UK ones, but the US videogame rating board is actually a nonprofit organization funded... I'm not familiar with the UK ones, but the US videogame rating board is actually a nonprofit organization funded by the videogame industry trade association, so - theoretically - they'd rate videogames more leniently than movies. But, in fact, each medium is rated by its own industry. I think it's more politicians and the news media covering them that have the biases. Show less »

Hard to say. I don’t think comic books have gotten to where jazz is in the respect category, for example. Games will need to tap into the emotional side more and the visceral side less for this to happen,... Show more »Hard to say. The majority of games involve shooting and killing. Is there a lack of creativity in games production?

I’m not sure that’s true at all. There are sports games, puzzle games, platform games, racing games, strategy games… the more violent ones seem to generate the most publicity.
