"Do you think that, in order for democracy to work in Northern Ireland, we need to see the rise of parties committed to isecular deologies such as conservatism, socialism, liberalism - rather than the Unionist/Nationalist divide? As things currently stand, there are only two options: a government of national unity between Sinn Fein and the Unionist parties (which, in the process, eliminates choice), or a government that excludes roughly half the population. Surely the rise of parties that bridge the Unionist/Nationalist divide on the basis of secular ideology is the only way out of this dilemma?"

"Given that the Left Party in Germany has polled almost 10% of the vote, and SPD voters will tire of the compromises necessary for SPD/CDU coalition governments, do you think it is simply a matter of time before we see a coalition Left-SPD government? Given that they represent so many people, can they be realistically excluded in perpetuity?"

"Ending global poverty is an important goal, but do you think the aims of the movement ought be expanded (from emphasis on aid), to include a fair trade agenda, support for organised labour in developing countries, and a program to reform the IMF and World Bank - without tying Third World governments into a neo-liberal model that favours privatisation of even the most basic infrastructure and services?"
