Show more »Dear Mr Lewis, I write to request your help in getting a 7.5 tonne weight limit put on the road outside my house. We live on a small single lane road (Heath Road, Rollesby) that a local lorry firm is using as a short cut to the B1152. This is causing extreme nuisance, we are literally shaken out of bed at between 5.30 and 6.30am every morning as half a dozen lorries thunder past and this continues though out the day, seven days a week. It is also causing structural damage to mine and my neighbours properties. There is an alternative parrallel road that could be used, which is wider, with passing places and does not have any houses on it. However, the Highways Authority said the junction is not suitable for lorries to turn left. I would suggest that it is in fact better than the one at the end of our road, as although the angle may be tight the visibility is much better and any lorry turning left from either junction has to cross the white line. My neighbours and I are becoming increasingly worn down by this constant disturbance and inconsiderate driving/dangerous driving (a neighbour's cat was splattered and I mean splattered outside our house in the summer, a child may be next). I wonder therefore if you would be kind enough to point me in the right direction to see if we can get this problem resolved or help in any way. I look forward to hearing from you.
