Show more »RE: Fish Discards and the 2012 CFP Reform Dear Jenny Willott MP, As one of your constituents, I am writing to ask you to attend and vote in favour of a motion due to take place at the House of Commons, Main Chamber, on Thursday 12 May, 3-6pm, (please see attached at the end of this email) which calls on the government to vote against the proposed EU reform of the CFP unless certain essential conditions, outlined in the motion, are met. Discarding causes a senseless waste of food and I want this shameful practice to end. I am also deeply concerned that the reformed CFP will not contain the appropriate sustainability, scientific and management conditions in order to provide long-term security for Europe’s fishermen. As my representative to parliament, I urge you to vote in favour of the motion. I would be grateful if you were able to let me know if you will be attending the debate. Show less »
