Direct, open conversation with public figures - for everyone with a question to raise

Aftermath of the Budget Cuts

There's no doubt that the first seven months of the Coalition has been focused on George Osborne's Budget and where each department will find the necessary cuts.

The success of the Treasury's spending cuts will be measured by how the country will react to the unavoidable cutback in public services and the fate of the Coalition will no doubt be tied closely to results.

It's too soon to start judging the Conservatives and Lib Dems on whether the cuts they supported politically by voting for Osborne's budget have been a success, but there are already some clear patterns emerging and the picture is a lot clearer now that almost every Government department has outlined their budget reductions and how they intend to make savings.

We have three Treasury Select Committee members who between them share a vast amount of budgetary expertise coupled with their own opinions on the Comprehensive Spending Review shaped, at least in part, by the parties they represent.

Select Committee Chairman and Conservative MP Andrew Tyrie will join Labour MP Andy Love and Lib Dem John Thurso on the panel and will answers any of your questions relating to the budget and the immediate future for the Treasury in 2011.
